Going To Try and Be Greener

Ever since my daughter started at the new high school in the county that was built to be as Green as possible, she has been on us, big time, to do a better job in being involved with the Green movement. We have always been big into recycling, in fact I have been using the same water bottle that I got for free at our local gas and convenience store for over 4 years now. I have become attached to it and would hate to have to give it up and start using a new one. I just like the shape and size, it isn’t round like the majority of water bottles, it is more squared, which works better for me. The big plus is that it doesn’t loose it’s shape like the round ones do if it gets placed in the freezer for any amount of time.

Anyway, it would really be nice to be able to start incorporating solar panels around the place so I have promised to start seriously looking into various solar panel uses and researching how we might be able to use some. It isn’t easy being Green but it is necessary fact of life these days.

Candles and Wine

After one of the many long, hard stressful days that just really kick my butt, I can’t wait to get home and kick off my shoes, take my bra off and open a nice bottle of wine, then I turn on some good music and light a couple of candles. That is the recipe for my “feel good.” I’m not that picky about wine – there’s a great selection of reds and whites for under $15 a bottle. I buy a variety of wines and try to keep them on hand. Sometimes I just grab a bottle without even looking at the label until it is open.

The candle is a different story. I like to buy fragrance candles and have all different sizes and fragrances. Sometimes I splurge and buy the expensive ones, but often I’m happy with just a little votive that I pick up at Target. My favorite is called, Angel Whispers, by Glade.

If I can squeeze in a nice hot bubble bath into the mix I can soak my troubles all away, at least for the moment.
