Responsibilities To The Family

My best friend has taken on the responsibility of taking care of her great uncle who is in his late 80’s and is in need of senior home care. Her mother was taking care of this man for the past several years, but has come upon some medical issues of her own that has made it impossible for her to take any more on than she possibly can at this point.

I’ve been looking around some myself on the Internet to see if I can come up with any suggestions on care for elderly in home services as well. She has been so busy at work and being a mom and wife that she has reached out to me to try and her along the way. I don’t mind one bit, she and I have been friends since the 4th grade, her family is my family and visa verse, we are just one big happy family!

There is a lot of information on the Internet concerning respite care, I’ve learned a lot in my endeavour to help out my friend, which is pretty cool. I’m sure that some day I’ll be looking in to find care for my parents, not something I look forward to, but is a reality that is inevitable, sigh…..

Music

My little sister has decided to take music this year in school. She is having a hard time deciding what instrument she wants to try and master. There are so many to choose from. Personally I would love to learn how to play the drums and with the drums comes the cymbals of course so you basically are learning two musical instruments in one. But I think that the flute would be a good start for her, she could learn the basics on that and maybe go on from there, like maybe to the trumpet or trombone, she has a big mouth and at times is totally full of hot air, but it is totally up to her to decide what she thinks would be the best for her.

I think that the clarinet would be a total challenge for her, I don’t think she is up to that at this point, but I’d love to see her master the saxophone. Many a jazz players woo the crowds with their sax, nothing better than that in my opinion! I’m sure what ever she decides and puts her mind to it will all be good, she is just that way and I love her all the more for it.

Born In The 70’s

Hard to believe that before the 1970’s came around people didn’t have the availability of the customized t-shirts that we take for granted these days. First came the bumper stickers and then the t-shirts with all the cute and witty sayings printed on them for us to express ourselves and our thoughts with. I can’t imagine life without these every day items and I’m always on the look out for new and exciting t-shirts to sport.

My sister is always looking for ways to make a statement and has turned to the Internet to find a custom t-shirt printing company that will print some of her designs that she has put together these past few years. She has been referred to Indigoclothing.com, they have a great reputation for having a staff of dedicated individuals that love the concept of customized clothing. She has been told of their discount prices and their easy to use website so she has shared their website with me to check out as well. We seem to do that to each other from time to time, it is always wise to get a second opinion on things and we are pretty good about bouncing things off of each other for each other.

Diversity

I sometimes am truly amazed at the variety of people that I have become acquainted with in my lifetime. And these days it is all about who you are related to and who you know and who can do what for you. Bartering has come back big time due to the economy and the cut backs that have been taking place. People are turning to each other in order to get by and to survive, families are coming together as well.

I have had to call in a few favors lately with some issues that I can’t afford to pay a professional to take care of. It is a good thing that I have several brothers that are pretty handy in different areas that have come to my rescue. My one brother that is a plumber has done numerous things for me around the place, my other brother who is a mechanic has been extremely valuable to me, and thank the good lord for my other brother who is the computer whiz. If not for him I wouldn’t be here typing away on my blog!

My other brother is into electronics, he doesn’t live near as close as the others, I rarely get the chance to see or talk with him, his job keeps him pretty busy and has a large family of his own to take care of. He is looking into a new career with a company that is a certified distributor of Aerospace Fasteners, components and electronic hardware, which is located in New York.
