The news is full of devastating facts and stories due to the economy and all of the trickle down effects that are affecting each and every one of us right now. And if that wasn’t bad enough, now we are all being scared out of our wits with the swine flu that is turning into an epidemic world wide. Can things possibly get any worse?
There are some positive things going on during this time of crisis, the price of motor vehicles are drastically dropping, there are deals to be found if you have the need and the money. Houses are available at deep discounted prices due to all the foreclosures going on. And airline tickets are becoming more affordable for travelers each and every day.
With money being so tight, folks are not traveling the way that they used to, so discount airfare promotions are a way to try and get people up and moving once again, not an easy task these days. It wasn’t too awfully long ago that airlines were starting to up their prices at every given chance, there was even talk of one airline thinking of charging to use to toilets on the plane for heaven’s sake. Things have come around full circle from that point in time.
The Internet has made the task of finding the best airline deals a much easier process. A great website to search flights at can be found at Lowfares.com. An easy, user friendly site that helps you find the best rates available through many travel sites that are found online. Not only can they help you find the best airfare, but hotels, rental cars and vacation packages as well.

After a long, hard stressful day, I can’t wait to get home and kick off my shoes, take my bra off and open a nice bottle of wine, turn on some good music and light a couple of candles. That is the recipe for feel good.I’m not that picky about wine – there’s a great selection of reds and whites for under $15 a bottle. I buy a variety of wines and try to keep them on hand. Sometimes I just grab a bottle without even looking at the label until it is open. I’ve had really good luck with wines, so far.
The candle is a different story. I like to buy fragranced candles and have all different sizes and fragrances. Sometimes I splurge and buy the expensive ones, but often I’m happy with just a little votive that I pick up at Target. My favorite is called, Angel Whispers, by Glade.

I haven’t been in Las Vegas in so long, I under stand it has drastically changed in the last decade or so and I’d love to find out for myself one day. My parents took us all on a trip there many moons ago and we had a blast. So I can imagine how wonderful it would be now as an adult out on an adventure. There are so many more exciting Vegas Hotels to stay and enjoy, I think that I would have a hard time deciding on which one I’d want to actually stay at for the duration.
The shows that are now being produced in Vegas must be an amazing experience to behold. I’d love to see just about any of the many that are always being show cased. Whether it be Cher, The Blue Man, Chriss Angel or Bette Midler, I’m sure that they would be most entertaining and exciting with all of the special effects that technology has brought to that city that never sleeps!
I’m not all that much into the gambling scene, but if and when I make it out west to Vegas you can bet (no pun intended) that I’ll be playing a few choice games, within reasonable limit of course. I want to have fun spending my money on the many other fun activities while I’m there, not loose my butt and my pride.
One thing that I’d definitely like to do in Vegas is to see the Cirque du Soleil and to stay at The Signature at MGM Grand right off of the strip and is one class act, in a non smoking, gated entrance, land of luxury. And to be able to witness the magic that the Cirque du Soleil is so well known for would be an awesome experience. One that I’ve only been able to watch on TV throughout the years.
When the time comes I’m sure that the Internet will be a very useful tool in the planning of my quest for the west! I’ve been checking out some of the sites that are out there to help with the hotels, the shows, tours, nightlife, food, transportation and the like and I like what I see. One day………….

When I was a little girl, my father would take us for long drives on Sunday afternoons. We would drive out to the country and look at cows and horses, and stop at a farmer’s vegetable stand and buy some ears of corn or a basket of peaches or whatever was in season.
He taught us a poem that I still think of when I have the rare occasion to see cows in a field.
I’ve never seen a purple cow.
I hope to never see one.
But if I see one anyhow,
I’d rather see than be one.
