The Personalized mailboxes that are popping up all over the county are really entertaining, unique, interesting and most times tasteful. This is a subject that seems to keep popping up more and more and it appears that I just might have to start looking at locking mailboxes here real soon.  Every now and then a neighbor will complain of someone vandalizing or worse yet stealing out of their mailbox and with the ever growing threat of Identity Theft these days, this just leaves all of us a bit unsettled.

I really love our current mailbox, my kid brother made it in his shop class and gave it to me for my high school graduation gift, which really touched my heart. He is my favorite of all of my brothers, and I have six of them, so replacing this special gift for a bigger and better safe and secure mailbox just isn’t going to be easy. Which is why I keep putting off buying one.

I’ve been cruising around the Internet for the past few months, looking for the perfect mailbox since my current one is in such a sad state. Mailboxes are important not only to assist your postal carrier in delivering your mail, but Mailboxes also help the police, the ambulance drivers as well as the fire fighters that would need to locate your address ASAP. At some point I really would like to see a nice set of stainless steel fireplace accessories along side my fireplace, I really like the look of stainless steel and would like to have more of it around the house, it could really drastically change what the place looks like. One day I will have this old place turned around and looking a bit more updated and modernized.

I keep forgetting that my niece is only 11 years old and that there is so much that she doesn’t know that I just assume she knows. Like we were driving by the apartment complex that we always pass on the way to take her home from spending the night at my place last night, when she asked me what these pieces of equipment were that look much like the photo below.

When I told her that they were cluster mailboxes, she looked at me like I had come from some alien planet. It was hard to keep from losing myself in laughter, since I was behind the wheel and driving on a pretty busy street at the time. Bless her heart, she just couldn’t picture in her head that the people’s mail that lived in those apartments were placed in these types of mailboxes. Oh to be so young and innocent again…….
