Eric is a 17 year old high school drop out that lives next door. I worry about the boy sometimes, but yesterday he announced that he and a few other of his friends had put together a CD of their music and promises me a copy as soon as they get them all in order and ready for distribution. I think it is a great idea and wish them all the luck in the world with their endeavour. I’ve heard them play through out the years, since they are right next door and know the quality of their work. They are planning on hitting several of the local clubs and even a few across the state line in an effort to get their music played out there. Maybe one evening I will be able to go with them, it sounds like fun!
He is currently looking for decent CD sleeves, so I referred him to psprint.com where they offer CD/DVD/VCD sleeves at discount prices. They use top of the line quality stock and offer free samples, which I think is cool. I’m familiar with their work due to the using of them at my work a time or two for their poster printing services, so I feel comfortable referring them to him and his musician friends.

The temperatures hit the 80′s again today and there was little or no breeze all day. For some people, the best way to beat the heat is to put on a bathing suit and go down to the swimming pool for an hour or two. That’s a great plan for people who live in apartment complexes with swimming pools, and for people who own the big California mansions with swimming pools in every back yard. I am sure a lot of them use the jandy aqualink for a lot of their pool supplies. Take a look at some of the Google satellite maps for Southern California and you’ll Orange County swimming pools everywhere. The same is true for North San Diego swimming pools and half way up the California coast. It’s not until you get to Monterey where the weather start getting cool that the number of swimming pools per neighborhood drops off.
Looking at the satellite maps for Middle Tennessee, you see a number of homes in the upscale neighborhoods that have custom pools, such as Brentwood, Bellvue, and Franklin. In my neighborhood, there are not very many in ground pools, but a few of our neighbors have splurged and put a pool in their backyards. I have not had the opportunity to make friends with the pool owners, but I’m thinking the hot summer days that are right around the corner are a good motivation for getting to know them and making friends.

My neighbors across the street are retired and keep to themselves for the most part, although we do wave and even stop to chat once in a while if we see each other out in the yard. Whit usually drives his truck when they go out, but today his wife Janice was driving when they pulled into the driveway. That struck me as odd and when Whit got out of the passenger side; Janice rushed around the car to help him out and up the stairs into the house. So I knew something was wrong. After lunch I headed over to see if there was anything I could do to help and they seemed to appreciate the offer. Turns out that Whit is fighting cancer, which I was very sorry to hear.
I love the neighborhood that I currently live in. I can’t say anything bad or negative about any of my neighbors, which is something that I have never experienced before. Every single place that I have ever lived at there has been a huge hassle with at least one neighbor, which makes for a lot of stress and anger for everyone involved. Who the heck needs more stress in their lives? Not this girl…..

We have decided to start looking at lawn sprinklers and various other irrigation supplies to use in the front, back and side yards here for next year’s summer season. I have always wanted the same type of pop up sprinklers that my father had installed in our yard back home. This was quite some time ago, I might add. No one else in the neighborhood had anything like that back. Our backyard was constantly filled with many neighborhood and school friends, along with all of the cousins and other relatives that enjoyed the perfect backyard that my father managed to build up and keep up for everyone’s pleasure.
We have worked hard to make our house and yard as kid friendly as we possibly can. I enjoy having kids come over and am proud that we can provide a safe place for kids of all ages to come and have fun. Better than running the streets or hanging out at the mall. So having this same type of lawn sprinkler system (and these days you can even have fertilizer spray out as well) would benefit the yards as well as the kids during the hot summer months that seem to keep getting hotter and hotter each year.

The Personalized mailboxes that are popping up all over the county are really entertaining, unique, interesting and most times tasteful. These wonderful custom mailboxes are a great way to express your individual lifestyle and tastes as well as making your address more easily located when 911 is called for emergencies. We still hear on the news once in a while how a person wasn’t saved because the firetrucks or ambulances couldn’t located the property, which is just a shame.
Today mailboxes and posts come in just about every shape, size and color and in a variety of price ranges. One thing that a lot of people don’t know is that once you install your mailbox and posts it becomes property of the United States Post Office, something that I learned the hard way when I was putting flyers in people’s mailboxes advertising a yard sale. Man didn’t I get a bawling out from a neighbor who used to work for the U.S. Post Office. I still avoid this particular neighbor to this day because he got so nasty with me that day. But now I know not to put anything in or on a person’s mailbox.
