After looking at the cigar magazine ipad that my sister had me look at we have decided to purchase our father some nice cigars and give him a subscription to this particular cigar magazine for Father’s Day. We stopped buying him cigars as presents a few years ago, but it looks like he has made up his mind to continue smoking his precious cigars, so we might as well buy him some nice ones once in a while to enjoy.

While on the subject of yummy foods, I have to tell you that the cheese and mushroom stuffed chicken that I made last night (under protest, mind you) turned out really great. I don’t normally like anything to do with mushrooms, although I have found a few recipes that I have been able to stomach along the way. So when my mother sent me the recipe that she found online for this cheese and mushroom stuffed chicken on the Sargento Foods website, I wasn’t all that excited about trying it. Now that I have tried it, now I have to confess to my mother that she was right, something that I don’t enjoy doing, but alas I must.

I have always enjoyed the cheeses made by Sargento and their italian cheese really makes a difference in this recipe. I do believe that the strong taste of the italian cheese helps mask the taste of the fresh mushrooms that are included in this stuffed chicken recipe. I think that I will check out their website as well and see if there is something else there to offer that I might be able to cook up and serve one night. Eating the same old same old gets tiresome doesn’t it?

Cheese and Mushroom Stuffed Chicken

It really shocked me when my mother turned down my invitation to go to the movies because she is very paranoid about catching bed bugs. No matter what I said or did she firmly kept refusing and my daughter twisted the whole thing around to where she thinks her grandmother doesn’t want to go to the movies with us because of her. This has been a constant battle between the three generations of females that just can’t seem to communicate with one another without someone taking it the wrong way and/or getting their feelings hurt on some type of level, sigh…..

It is a well known fact that bed bugs are becoming a huge issue with tons of people everywhere, as well as head lice. The pest control companies are being kept crazy busy and people are flocking to find new ways to prevent the spread of these unwanted critters, but this can’t make us so paranoid that it interferes with your daily life and relationships that we cherish and are hard to come by these days.

Funny thing is that my mother and step-father are currently on their way to Florida for a couple of weeks visiting friends and relatives and enjoying all that the “Land of Sunshine” has to offer. They plan on staying at various motels/hotels on their way down and back up again, which are more likely to infect someone with numerous unwanted critters. Go figure!

I’m so glad that I live so close to my aging parents, we have a great relationship and I truly treasure them both very dearly. I’m also very grateful that my current boyfriend gets along with them both and doesn’t mind helping me with some of their needs and issues. Now that the weather is changing to springtime, I know that they will be needing a good amount of assistance with the house and yard work that is always inevitable, and we will be spending a lot of time over there doing what ever it takes to get the jobs done. Inside the house or outside, whatever it takes.

My parents are wanting to purchase some new exterior shutters for the house and have asked me to assist them with the process of locating the best deal, with taking in consideration their tight budget along with the desire of acquiring a good quality product that will look good on their home and last a good long time. They still are not all that comfortable using the Internet for such tasks and turn to me quite often for assistance with tasks like this. I don’t mind a bit, I’m online so much, it isn’t a big deal for me to handle it.

I’m so glad that spring really is here, although it’s disturbing that there are wildfires in California and snow storms in Colorado on May 2nd.

There have been plenty of websites that I have found and suggested to my readers throughout the years. And most of you know that I dearly love the smell of a good cigar, but have no desire to start smoking one myself at any time soon. We used to always buy my great grandfather cigars for Christmas and then my Grandfather started smoking them as well as pipe once in a while and I feel in love even more with the nice aroma that you get once in a while of a good cigar or pipe being smoked.

I don’t do many auction sites and I really don’t like eBay, although I make a few purchases now and then through Amazon as long as I can use my PayPal account I feel pretty safe.  See I ran across a cigar auction online the other day, you know how you start pushing random buttons and you find yourself all over the place in just a matter of minutes. It reminded me of my grandfather and his father before him that meant so much to me as a girl and realize just how lucky people are that still have any of their grandparents still around.
