After looking at the cigar magazine ipad that my sister had me look at we have decided to purchase our father some nice cigars and give him a subscription to this particular cigar magazine for Father’s Day. We stopped buying him cigars as presents a few years ago, but it looks like he has made up his mind to continue smoking his precious cigars, so we might as well buy him some nice ones once in a while to enjoy.

I finally got word from my kid sister that she has landed a job with well known and well established Criminal Defense Lawyer Phoenix and is supposed to report to these DUI and Criminal Defense Lawyers first thing in the morning of April 2nd which should give her a bit of time to finish unpacking from their recent move out west and be ready for work. This is great news considering the bad luck that has been following her and her fiance since leaving here to go west.
It has been one thing after another. The rental truck that was filled with all of their belongings which they were driving out west in broke down and kept them stranded in the middle of the desert in Texas for 2 days was only the beginning of the streak of bad luck. The new rental that they were given had a serious leak issue and a lot of their stuff got ruined and then they had a flat tire on top of that.
When they finally arrived in Arizona, her fiance slipped and lost his balance on a set of stairs and he ended up breaking his right wrist so now he isn’t able to do much to help her with all of the unpacking of their stuff and she is 3 months pregnant and really shouldn’t be doing hard labor, which we all know goes with a move.
This new job might be the only thing that will save them at this point and I am praying that nothing else happens to either one of them or the baby of course. I miss them all so much.

Today my sister is celebrating her 40th birthday. I wish she could spend the day doing everything fun and nice for herself to pamper her body and relax the mind. Wouldn’t that be a nice way to start the next year of your life?
But she doesn’t have that luxury, what with the economic times we are all in plus the fact that her hubby was hurt in a car wreck and can’t work until he recovers. So it was off to work she goes, and her dinner plans include Chinese take out that she picks up on her way home from work. So at least she doesn’t have to cook.
Sis – I love you and hope you manage to have a happy day on your 40th birthday!

Happy Birthday Sis!

It wasn’t even a year ago when I went with my sister Lyn to various banks looking for a business loan. What a pain in the rear that whole process was. If it wasn’t one thing it was another and when we finally found the one that she ended up actually applying with I had had enough of the suit and tie crowd and the smell of money all around me that I couldn’t get my little hands on! We did each walk out of there with a new portable grill for applying for a business loan. I’ve used mine several times, while Lyn has hers still in the box in her basement.
It took so long to get the final answer from this particular bank loan officer, seems to me it was just about a month’s wait. I kept wondering if she had done this process with business lenders online how long would it have taken. Of course there are pros and cons for everything that we do. It all worked out, sis got her loan, her business is slowly taking off and I have myself a nice portable grill that is easy to use, easy to clean and doesn’t take up a lot of room.

My sister has been trying to talk me into taking Yoga classes with her the past couple of years, but I have managed to get out of it one way or another all this time. For some reason Yoga has this stigma attached to it that has turned millions of people off of even giving it a chance. I have always grouped myself with those millions of people all this time and I do believe that the time is right to do something about it.
It is going to be really start getting colder outside here real soon. Man don’t I just hate everything associated with the long, dark, wet, cold winter months. I get depressed, get lazier than normal, cranky, and just all in all not a happy person to be around and I do believe that doing something with my sister such as taking Yoga classes just might be good for us both.

I want the Blue one and Sis can have the Red one!
There are some classes that start at the end of January, which gives us time to get the holidays out of the way. So now we just have to look around and see what we will need to get started on this new adventure. I want to start slowly stretching my muscles out so it isn’t such a shock to my body and I found a great website that I sent the link to my sis so she could find thera band here as well to see what she thinks about me choices, concerns, ideas, etc…….
Thera Band has been around a very long time, so I trust their products. Their colorful mats look exactly like what I would want to use and I hope that my sis feels the same way, although we don’t have to get everything the same. We aren’t attached at the hip, but still after all these years it’s funny how I find that I still need my big sisters approval!
