With all the layoffs and companies going bankrupt, a lot of people are looking for the silver lining in this economic downturn. One bright spot is that the loss of one job gives you the opportunity to change career paths and pursue new dreams and personal goals. If I had the chance to change my own career path I would search out a top culinary school and become a chef.
As much as I love to cook, I think a career in a professional kitchen would be very satisfying. I’ve even searched online to see what schools are in the middle of the state. I found the Art Institute listed, which would be perfect for me. This site has information on both schools and careers, which makes it easy to find the information needed to make the career transition. There are so many ways to change career paths these days, evening classes and online options out the yahoo!
A lot of people have flocked to further their education to get into the medical field, from which one would like there would always be need for. But now I am hearing the this Obama Care is all ready making medical businesses start laying off and readjusting their budgets and all hell is going to let loose here real soon.

I started smoking in middle school along with my best friend, I believe it was in the 7th grade. I’m surprised how easy it was for us to buy the darn things at that age, but that was a long time ago and in a different world. We walked to school together, one mile and a tenth there in the morning and one mile and a tenth back each and every school day. On the way home we would pass this little corner store that made a lot of money selling candies, chips, ice creams, sodas and cigarettes to the students on their way home during the school week. It’s a shame they didn’t have the new electronic cigarette they could sell us instead of tobacco cigarettes.
He never asked for our ID (it wasn’t a requirement back then) so we always had access to what ever brand we wanted to try that day and the price of a pack of smokes back then were well under $1, so they very were affordable. We have both heard that there is now an electronic cigarette that is on the market and we have both decided that it would be a good idea for both of us to try this new alternative to tobacco cigarettes. She found and sent me the link to the website cigarti.com which I took a look at as well and am inclined to possibly give it a try along with her.
This would be a great New Year’s resolution for us both to try out together. I figure we started together, might as well quit together as well. I’ll keep you posted.

Times have certainly changed with all that the Internet brings to us. I can’t imagine having kids and then having to deal with the task of talking with them about the subject of sex. My mother really never gave me “the talk” she basically left it up to my older sisters to tell me what I needed to know, that and junior high health class.
My friends and I had all kinds of ideas in our heads that we all had heard rumors of back in the day. None of us had a clue and had no where to turn for good quality information concerning our curiosity of nature’s human sexual behavior. There was no way any of us were going to ask our health teacher any questions that were burning in our immature brains at that point.
I remember starting my period during school and I had to go to the nurse’s office to get the appropriate sanitary napkins to use until I went home. That evening when my mother came home from work, I worked up the courage to tell her that I had finally started my cycle. Her response to me was “Well it’s about time!” and she brought me into her room, gave me a pamphlet about the subject and sent me upstairs to have my sisters fill me in with any details or questions. I was totally freaked out at her reaction and felt very foolish.
Too bad we didn’t have the Internet back then. There are good informational sites out there such as HealthGuru.com that would have helped us so much back then. All we had we the library to turn to, and we didn’t use it to our advantage when it came to this subject that was such a taboo back then.

In today’s local newspaper I was reading that the local community college is looking into finding the money to build a new college press box to use next year for their numerous sporting events that the whole community enjoys. With all of the budget cut backs that have been going on all over the country something as simple as a new press box is now becoming a big issue. When will this economy crisis ever be over. I know a lot of folks think that the up and coming election will bring some relief, I on the other hand don’t see it myself.

I’ve been encouraged by my sister-in-law to look to buy Dunlop Dual-Design Straplok System for my nephew for his high school graduation gift for this up and coming big event that the whole family is looking forward to next month. Since they live so far away from me I really don’t know him very well and was really struggling to find something that he would really appreciate and enjoy from me. Luckily my sister-in-law sent me a link to a site where I could find this product online since I have no clue when it comes to guitars. Thank goodness for the Internet it certainly helped save my butt this time around.
