One of my all time favorite fairy tales is Cinderella. I could watch that movie over and over again and never get tired of it. My niece told me that last year in her English class that they were given numerous variations of the classic tale of Cinderella to read and she was amazed (and I as well) at how this nouveau riche (newly rich) story has changed through out the years and is told in so many different languages these days.
Cinderella is considered a nouveau riche story due to that fact that Cinderella came from such rags and came into riches when her prince finally came and rescued her from her evil step mother and crazy step sisters. From rags to riches, such a classic. My niece had never heard the phrase “nouveau riche”, which didn’t surprise me. It really isn’t a term used much these days. So she was grateful for the Internet and Wikipedia to enlighten her on the subject. It’s great that these kids these days have the Internet to use for their researching, it sure beats having to get to the library and spend so much time digging through numerous books and magazines for their needed information. Wish we had that opportunity back in my days of schooling.

The local news on the CBS station has this annoying way of broadcasting little teasers about their upcoming news stories. I hate those stupid little teasers – it really does make them look like cheap sensationalists but I guess it works for keeping a lot of these rednecks around here tuned in or they wouldn’t keep doing it. From my experience the teaser is usually better (more interesting and entertaining) than the story.
So all night last night they kept showing teaser clips of a hot wings restaurant with the line, “Is there a shortage of hot wings?” which of course was said in an insinuating way that implied that there is indeed a shortage of hot wings. OMG! How could that be?!?!?! And to have a shortage now, on the eve of the Super Bowl?!?!?! OMG! I bet the rednecks were working themselves up into a total frenzy! Whatever will they DO if there is a shortage of hot wings?!?!?!?! So at the end of the broadcast they do a tiny little story and say that no, there is no shortage of hot wings. WTF? This is news? I feel so USED.

Superheros have always had a good following. Superman, Batman and Spiderman are still going strong these days and people are still wearing t shirts with these TV Show and Movie Related superheros a plenty. I have been looking for some new T shirts to wear, as I have put on a few pounds over the past couple of months and most of the ones that I have in my drawer are old, faded and a bit too tight. I don’t like wearing tight clothing, so I have been looking around online for some new ones to sport.
One of the websites that caught my attention is Wearyourbeer.com that has a great selection of a variety of t shirts to offer their online shoppers. It’s there that I see that the Batman T shirts and the Spiderman T shirts are still going strong, along with many more superheros that are still around and popular as well. Remember the Green Lantern, Aquaman, Captain America and of course good old Wonder Woman? Oldies but goodies and still kicking it!
If you are looking for t shirts at an affordable price, check out what Wearyourbeer.com has offer, they accept PayPal, which is always a plus in my book.

Christmas is right around the corner, and I have been searching around for a good gift to give to my husband. He had recently gotten a 52″ flat screen TV that he won from a raffle held by the local Elks Lodge, but has no where to really put it. After taking some time to search around a bit to see what my options were, I came across some tv brackets that I am 99% sure will work for his particular TV needs, and thought that would be perfect for his new flatscreen TV. He could just simply mount his TV up on the wall which will free up a lot of “counter space” that is so valuable for most of us to use to display all the things that we love, collect and treasure. I’m sure he will be extremely happy when he opens this particular Christmas gift and will put it to good use. This guy loves his TV and has been itching to get this thing up and running, especially since it is right in the middle of football season and he does so love his football.
I always have a hard time finding gifts to buy and give to guys. So when I find something that I think someone would really enjoy, appreciate and use, I take the bull by the horns and run with it, unless of course they are scissors of course!

I wonder how many people fall asleep in front of the TV every night? And a similar question, I wonder how many people leave their TV on all night long?I have to admit that I do leave the TV on all night. It is mainly a safety issue because I live in “Tornado Alley” and the TV is the only way I would get a warning at night to take cover. There is a loud horn sound that comes across the TV when the threat of tornadoes is in the area. I can hear that and wake up to see what is going on.
However, I suspect that a lot of people leave the TV on just so they have some noise in the house to keep them company. I don’t like a silent house, but that is not usually a problem for me – unless the electricity goes off.
